Writer’s Guide to Success

I thank my stars for giving me the rare gift of painting pictures through words. Blogging is the new black. There is blogging for everything. It is becoming the new way to meet people, to find a creative outlet and spread knowledge about any topic that interests. But of course, spouting off a post for the sake of it is not worthy of it at all. There’s a lot to remember when crafting a solid post. I have been writing for a quiet while, so I have come up with some easy yet important tips that make a blog post successful. Below I’ve listed a few secrets to stand out in a sea of bloggers.

Let’s start.

  1. Blog topic generator

At times we run out of ideas and coming up with blog topics becomes a challenge. We look for some inspiration to start over with something enticing. It takes a lot of time to come up with a good topic when you’re facing writer’s block. So, work on the first step of coming up with ideas for having a good topic, that includes:

2. Structure your introduction effectively

If you really want your audience to keep reading on, your introduction is believed to have the magical powers to do something phenomenal. You need to quickly hook your reader with an introduction that delivers something they find valuable. Your post should be directly connected to your headline to make sure reader find worthy what they clicked on. Here are some techniques you can try:

Ask a question that may relate to the audience

  • Create suspense
  • Throw light on what information they will get
  • People love stories about other people
  • Share a quote

Stephen King talks about keeping on an ideal reader in mind to keep your voice consistent. When you start writing, make sure you have the clear reader in your mind.

3. Bring in supporting subheadings

I believe a writer should give a structure to its blog post by using creative subheadings. Because someone who is in rush will read your blog in a hope to gain something useful from your subheadings. Subheadings are like the signposts making your write up more inviting and look good. A compelling headline with an effective subheading will give a follow-up that makes or breaks the deal.

4. Use the right blogging voice

Of course, you don’t want to sound like a boring writer who has no connection with the audience. To turn your blog enjoyable, add some spark to you blogging tone. Make it natural, conversational, use metaphors and humor that makes your blog interesting, easy to relate and read. If you sound ‘human’ it will probably be appropriate for your blog.

5. Facts and figures

Share some statistics and facts as it gives your reader the assurance that your post has some real information. Highlight some myths and compare them with the actual facts. As you plan your blog post, look for recent data to get a better picture of your ideas.

6. Don’t forget images

Blog articles with images get 94% more views. Make it a habit to use at least one image with your blog post. If your post has no images it will look unappealing. You can illustrate your point visually in a better way with your content. Use free images from unsplash.com or flickr.com, or pixabay.com. Ideally, your images will make your blog post more detailed and emphasize your message.

7. Give them a takeaway

With an intriguing introduction, appealing images and useful facts and figures, you have got your reader to the near end of your post. Make sure you use words that instill them to take some action, something that builds a deeper connection or makes them be able to add comments.

8. Use the top tools
