Production Update: Volume I
Since closing our Kickstarter campaign in late October, we have been incredibly busy! We have received so much love and support from the community and we are busy preparing for our first production run. We are happy to say that we will be producing 100 clocks in our first run! Wow!
Here’s an overview of what we have been up to:
- Our software team has begun a series of infrastructure improvements to help prepare for the increase in traffic when our clocks ship out.
- Our hardware team has started redesigning the axel hub in preparation for assembly efficiency.
- Our marketing team has shipped our first rewards — thank you’s and stickers to our Community Member backers.
Software Update
Our software team has three major projects to complete before we are ready to ship. The first of these three projects is upgrading our cloud infrastructure to be scalable, reliable, and secure. We are happy to report that the infrastructure upgrades are tracking to be completed by the end of the month — right on schedule!

Hardware Update
Our hardware team has two major projects to complete before manufacturing can begin. The first of these projects is redesigning the axel hub for reliability and easy, repeatable assembly. Our team has been hard at work designing and testing new ideas. We hope to share some of our improvements in next month’s two-part blog post, so stay tuned!
Marketing Update
Our marketing team has been busy keeping our Kickstarter momentum going. For those backers who have were community members, you can thank our Marketing team for getting those beautiful thank you letters written and shipped out in record time. We are absolutely in love with our Stata Clock sticker sheets — show your support and tag #stataclock when your stickers arrive!
Looking Ahead
With the New Year fast approaching, we are already on-track to finish 2017 strong. Looking ahead to 2018, we have a lot of work to do. Stata Clock Coasters are being manufactured in January and are expected to ship before the end of the month. Our software team will begin tackling our new Android app and our hardware team will put the finishing touches on their designs.
