The Staten Island Economic Development Corp. will host the 7th Annual Staten Island Green & Clean Festival on Thursday, June 8, at the Grand Oaks Country Club from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The festival is dedicated to environmental awareness and education for residents and businesses alike.

“The Green & Clean Festival is a lively and spirited day-long marketplace where sustainable businesses and organizations showcase their services and where environmentally conscious individuals gather to learn how to incorporate sustainability into their lives,” said festival Ambassador Adam Zellner of Greener by Design.

This powerful forum connects local businesses, non-profits associated with sustainability, industry, manufacturing and emerging industries with potential consumers in order to gain exposure for their brand and to explore what other products are available in the sustainable marketplace. The festival is expected to draw 40 vendors and more than 500 visitors throughout the day.

The 7th Annual Staten Island Green & Clean Festival is presented by National Grid and Pratt Industries. Corporate sponsors include Con Edison, Staten Island University Hospital, Williams Transco, Staten Island Advance, Casandra Properties and The Von Agency. United Airlines has been named the official airline of the 2017 Staten Island Green & Clean Festival. Extensive support for the Conference youth education initiative comes from ADCO Electric, Borough President James Oddo, Assemblyman Michael Cusick and Puddin’ Kids First.

Highlights of the festival include a Keynote Breakfast at 9 a.m. in the Fairway Room, an “It’s Organic Bash” cocktail reception from 2 to 4 p.m., Plant Nite Live demonstrations, a business crime seminar, the Richmond County Savings Foundation Green Challenge check presentation, as well as multiple educational and student seminars on topics such as gas safety, the NYC H2O, and greenbelt education.

Vending will take place all day in the Ballroom from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Vending highlights include presenting sponsor National Grid’s Income Eligible Free Natural Gas Conversion Program. Applications and other materials will be available to families who qualify for free heating and hot water upgrades from oil to natural gas. National Grid is hoping to reduce expenses for low-income families, and be community partners in saving energy and money. If you are interested in vending, please contact Megan Kenny, SIEDC membership and events manager, at (718) 477–1400 ext. 827.
