For the last few months, we’ve been feeling the momentum rising; we’ve had loads of startups from all over the world apply to our Founders Program, we’ve had numerous journalists get in touch, we’ve had additional partners confirm their presence on campus and we’ve been putting the finishing touches on the building to open in April as planned.

Now, all startups have setbacks — and we do too.

Unfortunately and unexpectedly, on Friday afternoon, a pipe burst in the sublevels under STATION F. This incident happened during the initial operating of the pipe and therefore cannot happen again once STATION F opens.

We were able to quickly respond but we now will need to repair and replace some of the equipment that was damaged before opening to the public.

Opening date moved back by a few weeks.

This incident should move our opening date back a few weeks — we will be able to confirm the exact date in the next days. These kinds of things happen on construction sites and we are working hard to open as soon as possible.

What we can say at this point is that our on-site partners have been notified and they will adapt accordingly. Regarding our STATION F Founders Program, selection is moving forward as planned — the only change is the new move-in date. We are doing our best to keep as many events as possible but unfortunately many events will need to be re-scheduled. That said, some of our event venues will be able to host events.

We realize that this date change may impact some of our partners, startups and events. We will continue to our best to provide all information as soon as it is available.

What will happen in the next few weeks: startup selection, partners announcements, and more.

Now, we still have great things coming over the next few weeks: we will finish picking our first startups for the Founders Program and we will also have several new partners announcing their presence at STATION F — if you want to be the first to know, we advise you sign up for our newsletter and follow us on Twitter. And of course, we will continue our series on startup ecosystems throughout Europe!

The entire team at STATION F would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their patience and support and we are very much looking forward to welcoming you to our beautiful campus!
