Vitality is establishing a presence in Stade de France, the prestigious national French stadium that will be hosting the opening and closing ceremonies and the athletics events at the 2024 Summer Olympics. The leading French esports team (in the Naver program at STATION F) will be the first club to open a training and high performance centre within the Stade de France for their professional players this upcoming Fall. The centre will welcome two teams full-time and will offer all Vitality players an access to a team of coaches (mental and physical) as well as high-performance technical infrastructure.

Inaugurated in 1998, the Stade de France resonates in the heart of the French as a place rich of history. From the victory of the French football team in the World Cup finals in 1998 to concerts of the biggest international artists, it’s a versatile and spectacular arena. Innovative during its construction, the Stade de France continues on this path by offering Team Vitality a residence for future generations, always with innovation and perfect performance at heart. — Alexandra Boutelier, Director of Stade de France

Such a partnership is one that is bound to mark history and is Vitality’s achievement in making history in esports and esports in history. We speak to Nicolas Maurer, CEO of Vitality, to learn more about what it means for their team and for esports in general with regards to traditional sports.

This partnership demonstrates the extremely fast growth of esports and the industry trend of learning from traditional sports experience and best practices. We intend to be at the forefront of player development, mentoring and professional teamwork environment. This long term partnership with the Stade de France will give us all the tools we need to go to the next level.

Recently raising €20 million with billionaire entrepreneur Tej Kohli, now establishing a historical first partnership… What can we expect to see from Vitality in the next 6 months?

We always want to surprise our fans and be ahead of the curve, so I won’t share anything new at this point — but the next big move for us is the grand opening of the new Vitality flagship in central Paris, a place dedicated to our fans. Stay tuned!

The setup of high performance structures is at the heart of the Stade de France project for Vitality — it has two objectives: first, to improve the performance of Vitality players et also to identify and attract international talents in Europe. Working with the Stade de France allows Team Vitality to join the ranks of the big leagues and legends that have marked sports and entertainment history, hence reinforcing Vitality’s position as the European leader in e-sports.
