UI Refresh
You may have seen our teaser blog posts — Meet our new Command Designs and The Status UI Refresh: Chats, Contacts & Profile. Well, this release marks the first phase of these changes!
Since Status opts for a rolling release you’ll see the UI changes roll out over the next few cycles. The majority of the UI has been updated, and the new command looks are currently being worked on.
State of the DApps
Long-time member of the Ethereum community, Joris Bontje has been doing DApp curation since as long as I can remember, with his excellent project State of the DApps. We’ve integrated this into our contact management system, allowing you to get curated DApps directly within Status.
Contact Management
Yes that’s right, now you can manage groups of Friends and DApps!
Whisper V5
We’ve also upgraded to the latest WhisperV5 protocol, it is NOT backwards compatible with WhisperV2 but what’s great about it is it includes the ability to do offline inboxing, meaning you’ll soon be able to get access to your messages when you come back online, and paves the way forward to decentralized push notifications, which you can read more about here.
