Statusdroid, one of 2,300 startups at Slush
Damp and cold Helsinki might not be the best travel destination in November unless you are an entrepreneur or a fool. Being crazy into our business, we thought it was just right to go and take part in one of the best startup and tech events of the year called Slush. FYI, we were not alone. There were 17,500 of us.
We arrived in chilly Finland on November 30 to get ready for the big day. Early Friday morning we put up our stand in the magnificent arena and spent the whole day telling the story of Statusdroid. We were so much into it that we chatted with over 160 participants. It felt great to meet entrepreneurs and get a valuable feedback from them. For many people, it was the first time they heard about intelligent website monitoring. They were very curious to test the security of their websites and by the end of the day, we did more than 120 tests!
But it wasn’t only about testing, we yearned for more. In particular, we wanted to explain our company vision which is to provide top-notch insurance to website owners and webmasters. We were thrilled to see people being interested in our service and ready to pay more than what we had initially intended to ask. Not a single critical voice appeared which convinced us to work even harder on our mission.
Slush was a total blast! It didn’t feel like other startup events since it was a combination of a conference and a festival. Lectures of world-class speakers, inspiring entrepreneurs from all over the place and a wrap-up afterparty all in one. We are grateful to CzechInvest for letting us be part of this.
