Traveling can definitely be very costly, but combined with buying your flight ticket at the right time and choosing a comfortable yet inexpensive hostel to stay, it’s not impossible to travel on a budget. Not only that, you can even round up your inexpensive travel plan with opting for a cheaper travel destination, especially Asia, a continent known for being budget friendly.

Vietnam

If you are a fan of coffee, french colonial architecture, and amazing sceneries, Vietnam isn’t a costly destination to visit. Go to Ho Chi Minh to see buildings with french colonial architecture, stop by Ha Long Bay for an amazing boat ride with an extravagant view, and enjoy cheap authentic bowls of pho and cups of Vietnamese coffee in the streets of Hanoi. As the one of the cheapest cities in Asia, Hanoi surely won’t dig into your pocket too much. For around $10 a day, you can definitely enjoy a lot of Hanoi and more of Vietnam with a little bit more.

India

Also known as Bollywood, India is the motherland of millions of Indian movies, but as a travel destination, it’s so much more than that. From the Taj Mahal to the Golden Temple, India has many mausoleums and forts worth visiting. Not only that, the local authentic curries and street foods are definitely worth a visit alone. To round it all up, you don’t even need to spend that much money; a month in India is will cost you just about the same if you were to spend a week in Western Europe.

Nepal

The motherland of the Himalayas, Nepal is also a cheap country to visit. Aside from that, for avoid hikers, this neighboring country of India is surely the right country to go hiking. Travelers can also enjoy various activities from outdoor activities from water rafting, paragliding, to seeing rhinos at Chitwan National Park. For those seeking to relax and meditate, they can visit the buddhist monastery and the different sanctuaries in Kathmandu.

Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is the perfect place if you are seeking for an adventure where the common tourists haven’t thought to visit. As it is not very popular among tourists, this scenic country is still cheap and yet filled with beautiful sceneries like beaches and waterfalls. Travelers can also immerse themselves in the culture while reflecting on their lives as they visit the different temples or climb the famous Pidurangala Rock to see an amazing view of Sigiriya.

Thailand

Known among tourists as one of the cheapest destinations in Asia, Thailand is certainly filled with a lot of travelers from around the world. To avoid the crowd, simply stay away from the capital and you’re set. Chiang Mai, a city in Northern Thailand, is a cheap alternative to Bangkok and known for its beautiful beaches. Rent a private cabana on the beach for $10, an hour massage for $5, and buy some delicious street foods for $1. Travelers also have the option to go trekking or volunteer at local sanctuaries. For outdoor enthusiasts, stopping by Krabi is also a must for some rock climbing action.

Cambodia

Another not-so-popular destination among tourists is Cambodia, which makes it even cheaper. If visiting traditional monuments, museums, and temples is right up your alley, then Cambodia makes an even perfect place for you. Not only you’ll get to see the world-famous Angkor Wat, you also can go to Khmer Rounge to learn more about the history of Cambodia after the end of the Cambodian Civil War.

Myanmar

Last, but most definitely not least is Myanmar. Also known as Burma, this former British colony is known for its Buddhist temples, pagodas, and monastery. Travelers can also see the famous Inle Lake and see the amazing view as they climb up Mandalay Hill to see the amazing view of the entire city. Ngapali Beach is also another beautiful place to relax while you can enjoy the weather.
