Yorkshire Housing and Stay Nimble Work Together to Get More People Into Jobs

Yorkshire Housing and award-winning career coaching digital platform Stay Nimble are collaborating to help people experiencing redundancy get back into employment while supporting others to find more fulfilment and purpose in their work.

In the process of digitally transforming its services, Yorkshire Housing is building an online hub for customer resources, where tenants can get support on issues including work, finances, digital inclusion, and tenancy sustainment. Stay Nimble, a social enterprise committed to making expert career guidance accessible for everyone, is now an integral part of Yorkshire Housing’s drive to offer support and training to those who want to improve their work prospects.

Digital career guidance

As Yorkshire Housing and Stay Nimble roll out their partnership, a target group of 25 people will be offered 6 months’ access to the Stay Nimble platform, which will be augmented with support from the Yorkshire Housing employment team. The target group will be invited to assess their skills and strengths and will be introduced to a wide range of career matches and job vacancies in their local areas.

They will also have opportunities to upskill, with access to more than 1,000 free courses offered in Stay Nimble’s Learning Hub, the result of partnerships with the Open University and FutureLearn. People recently made redundant due to the pandemic can receive additional support and guidance from a CDI-registered careers adviser.

Affordable homes

The Yorkshire Housing Group was formed in 1999 and became Yorkshire Housing in 2008. Today its team manages more than 18,000 affordable and social rent homes across 20 local authorities. A not-for-profit organisation, Yorkshire Housing’s earnings are reinvested into improving services for their customers and the region. Their mission is to give everyone the opportunity to live in a quality, sensibly priced dwelling, and to achieve this are building 3,000 homes by 2021.

The Stay Nimble team is passionate about addressing inequality and creating opportunities for improved life chances through better work. It re-invests more than half its profits in improving its career guidance resources and extending these resources to the disadvantaged.
