My new go to product

As the original beauty blogger for RealSelf.com, I had an opportunity to try hundreds of beauty products. Fortunately I only had to pay for a small number of them, because most of them didn’t work. Others that do, such as Obagi, contain ingredients thought to be toxic to the body.

It is summer here in Arizona and those of us unfortunate enough to be in town are going back and forth between air conditioning and the 110 degree air outside. If you think this is good for your skin you have another think coming. But even worse is winter, when we live in artificial heat and take hot showers because it’s cold out. Hot showers really dry the skin.

Even places with more humidity than my neighborhood can’t prevent skin from drying out. It’s just part of the aging process, and that’s why even tropical climates require moisturizers.

I have honed my ability to tell what works and what doesn’t on my own skin through hard experience at great cost. I have ordered extremely expensive skin care products, tried them, and thrown the remainder of the jar away.

At this point I am not an easy sell, which is why I was so impressed with NoBordersNaturals Collagen+Retinol CBD Cream. Retinol, also known as vitamin A1, is a yellow compound found in green and yellow vegetables, egg yolk, and fish-liver oil. It is essential for growth and for vision in dim light. But it is the gold standard ingredient in anti-aging skin care erasing fine wrinkles. Collagen, the most abundant protein in the body, is responsible for giving structure to the skin. As you age, you lose collagen, and that’s why your skin sags.

Yes I expected retinol and collagen to work, because they are present in most quality skin creams, but I think what I didn’t figure is how adding CBD allows both of those to be absorbed more completely by the skin and makes them more effective. CBD is a natural anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant, which can counteract free-radical damage. I’ve been using NoBordersNaturals Collagen+Retinol CBD Cream for about 6 months now, and I can really see the difference. The CBD cream, combined with the Dead Sea Mud Mask has proven able to help visibly diminish issues like wrinkles, skin dullness, and ruddy skin tone.

When you begin to consider skin products, it’s important to recognize that the skin is the largest organ in the body. We think of it as something external, but it is as important as kidneys or liver. What you put on your skin often gets into your body, which is why contraceptive and seasickness patches work, and it’s why pregnant women stop polishing their nails. This is called dermal absorption, and while you may not notice it, chemicals can enter the bloodstream and cause health problems later.

You might want to think about that the next time you buy a skincare product thinking it is “for external use only.” Be as careful with what you put on your skin as you are with what you swallow.
