How New is Web 3
Much of what we think of as the revolutionary culture of Web3 is a recycled version of the “penny stock” schemes that took place when I was growing up. Penny stocks were a replica of shares in public companies sold on the New York and American Stock Exchanges, only they were less expensive, hence their names. Unlike their better capitalized big brothers, they were the little guys in public offerings, not the unicorns.
