Where Should Elon and Vivek Cut?

I’ve been listening to people like Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy talk about cutting the US budget and abolishing Federal agencies now that Trump is in office, so I thought I would start to take a look at how our budget is actually spent, while I can still get the information.. Luckily, there are still some people in the Deep State to compile this information and publish it, so if you would like to follow me down this week’s rabbit hole, you can start here.

But before you begin, you need to consider the question of what a government is for, anyway. I took this wording from Congressman James Clyburn’s website for children. I like it because it’s clear.

“The foundation of our American Government, its purpose, form and structure are found in the Constitution of the United States. The Constitution, written in 1787, is the “supreme law of the land” because no law may be passed that contradicts its principles. No person or government is exempt from following it.

The Constitution establishes a federal democratic republic form of government.
