Preliminary results for Steam sales in 2015
I know the year isn’t over yet and we have one last Steam Sale to go through, but I wanted to share preliminary results for top selling games by country.
All lists here are assembled based on number of copies activated per country. Some copies might’ve been bought or acquired outside of Steam and significant share of those copies were bought at discount.
It’s also important to note that the data only includes activations from April, 1st of 2015 to December, 20th of 2015. I don’t have any data before that.
I did my best to filter out giveaways and temporarily free games, but all lists here might contain some mistakes.
I’ll post an updated version with Steam yearly results somewhere in January, after Steam Winter Sale ends.

Please, note that those lists only include game sales from April to December. I don’t have reliable data for January to March, otherwise we’d have H1Z1 in the list at #5 with 2,055,341 owners.
UPD: Added Skyrim back into the list. It was originally filtered out because of the free weekend.
The following list only only includes games that were released in 2015.
Note: Prison Architect was released earlier and only exited Early Access in 2015, so you might argue it shouldn’t be included here.
