Mission: To showcase and foster collaboration between the arts and sciences. We publish stories that promote the mission of the STEAM organization: to integrate the creativity and aesthetics of the arts, the problem solving tools and rigor of the STEM fields, and the critical thinking and ethical considerations of the humanities.

Article guidelines: We consider all submissions that advance our mission. Rough guidelines are mentioned below, if you’d like some structure. But we’re happy to read articles that break these rules too. Please submit final drafts only.

(1) Align your story your story with our mission. Make sure that it “showcases or fosters collaboration between the arts and sciences.”

(2) Write about 500–1000 words — but more or less is fine, if necessary. If your article has a lot of images, then treat an image as about 50 words. For instance, a photo series that documents an event or project should have at least 10 images.

(3) Grab at least one cover photo. Make sure you have the rights to use it.

How to submit an article: Make a Medium account and write your story. Then, email an Editor and we’ll add you as a Writer. Once we list you in the Writer’s section of our publication, submit your story to us. An Editor will review your draft and request changes, if necessary. Once everything is all set, an Editor will publish your story.

Goal: The goal of the Medium blog is to foster collaboration between STEAM interest group. We’ll publish: stories about projects that STEAM organizations are working on; thoughts on personal projects that bolster our mission; interdisciplinary discussions of current events, new technology, and industry trends.
