This year’s Gastech in Singapore has indeed been remarkable. After a pandemic-induced hiatus, attendance surged to an impressive 40,000 participants. The hallways buzzed with professionals and trade visitors, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a bustling marketplace filled with a diverse array of goods and services.

From industry giants to emerging companies like ours, the Singapore Expo venue teemed with innovations, fresh market concepts, cutting-edge technologies addressing climate challenges, and ambitious decarbonization initiatives, among other exciting developments. Here are some key highlights from the recently concluded Gastech Exhibition and Conference.

Gastech 2023 featured a session addressing the critical challenges of procurement staffing and burnout, organized by the Energy Industries Council. This session offered insights from respected procurement leaders from companies such as Fluor, Chiyoda, Black & Veatch, and Maire Techmont.

The procurement sector has faced significant challenges lately — a shortage of skilled professionals and the issue of burnout. As organizations expand and supply chains grow more complex, the demand for procurement experts has surged. However, finding and retaining qualified talent has proven difficult. This shortage has strained existing procurement teams, often leading to overworked professionals, which impacts the efficiency of the procurement process. Addressing these issues is crucial to ensure the resilience and success of procurement operations.
