OVA to deliver their Mixed Reality solution to the Government of Canada
A $545k contract to create collaborative XR experiences that support the transformation towards digitally-enhanced forensics training
Quebec, QC, October 23, 2023. OVA will have their mixed reality innovation tested through Innovative Solutions Canada’s Testing Stream. The innovation blends digital experiences with physical environments for the creation of effective training opportunities.
This initiative seeks to enhance innovation within Canada’s business sectors by aiding Canadian innovators in advancing their pre-commercial products and facilitating their successful market introduction. It operates as an R&D procurement program, where the federal government pairs with innovators to test late-stage innovations, purchasing the innovation and assisting with related testing costs.
As part of this program, OVA is working with Innovative Solutions Canada to deliver immersive training experiences that offer the most value, irrespective of the learner’s location. The innovation merges the strengths of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR), resulting in collaborative Extended Reality (XR) sessions that surpass the limitations of singular VR or AR products. This advanced module enhances the creation of an in-person training curriculum by integrating digital objects and interactions in real-world scenarios, offering users the ability to toggle their immersion based on the task at hand. It also introduces unique features
such as superimposing 3D models on their physical counterparts (expanding applicability for digital twins), or pre-recording lesson material with an Avatar Recorder.
This contract is set out to prove how ground-breaking this Virtual and Mixed Reality module can be for transforming the creation of training content for law enforcement agencies. It’s an exciting chance for users to investigate the integration of this technology into their training curriculum, as it presents a cost-effective, adaptable, and immersive learning option that can be implemented throughout the organization, regardless of workforce location or size.
By adopting this no-code innovative technology, OVA’s clients can build realistic and engaging training experiences to supplement traditional methods, while also providing the benefits of on-demand access and remote learning capabilities.
