Stellup, Parallel 18 and Puerto Rico
Stellup team was selected for the very first batch of a brand new accelerator called The 18th dimension www.parallel18.com in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. We were actually lucky enough to be selected in 2015 for @startupchile so we knew @vidalsebastian1 (director of operations in Chile and CEO at Parallel)
We’ve been absolutely thrilled with the experience and can only recommend other founders to apply, here is why:
- Super skilled and incredibly helpful team at Parallel 18 with a pretty wide network even in San Francisco / Silicon Valley
- AWESOME office space
- Get $40,000 in CASH (again without giving out any equity…similar to Startup Chile)
- Leverage a ton of Puerto Rico business and tax incentives.
- Being in USA while in a way being in Latin America (perfect base to do business in the both Americas)
- Great network of global entrepreneurs that definitely think different and tend to help out each other A LOT
- Perfect test market to run pilot
Our CEO Vincenzo Belpiede with Oscar (a Colombian with previous startup experience in Mexico) were able to signup 3 universities in the first couple of weeks on our university crowdfunding and alumni engagement platform
It was great to see a university like www.pupr.edu featuring Stellup App on its website so prominently only few days after our meeting (of course our Spanish speaking skills helped ;)
