YARA and KONGSBERG enter into partnership to build world’s first autonomous and zero emissions electric ship
What? I was rubbing my eyes, too. Yes that’s right, an electric powered container ship wich runs autonomous will replace trucks. Road transports are increasing and so air pollution does. To bring the autonomous technology to the waterways was also just a matter of time.

And this is the OSV open source vision of the future of mobility. Such a great idea!
Impact:
In the next years we are going to see a huge impact of OSVehicle. Remember the impact of open source software or the open source internet browser №1 — Firefox. So, just imagine a public transport service running hundreds of OSVehicles wich are run fully autonomous or a sightseeing company offering a hop on hop off service through a fleet of autonomous cars more or less out of the box.
The automotive industry is reshaping because of abundant new technologies. The costs for those technologies (sensors, connectivity, batteries, …) are sinking dramatically so that cars are becoming really abundant. Self-driving cars are about to become abundant during this decade. And this open source care here is a real breakthrough and going to be game changer.
