My Neighbors, Part 2

It’s been a relatively quiet week on Nextdoor. People have mostly been asking for recommendations on various projects around their homes. However, I have noticed somewhat of a trend. Several neighbors have been bitching about fast food restaurants.

My surrounding neighborhood consists of towns and villages outside of Rochester, NY. I wouldn’t consider the people living here trendy or worldly. Their idea of fine dining is a pizza or a burger. They don’t even think of food from a different culture. If their mother didn’t cook it, they won’t try it!

The two most common complaints this week have been the cost of fast food and customer service. Many people expressed their anger at seeing the high cost of their meal at checkout. Naturally, in this heavily MAGA country, they blamed Biden for the high cost of their hamburgers and fries.

I can see their disappointment when they finally realize how much they paid for their dinner. But the last time I was in a fast-food restaurant, I believe they had a giant board right in front of where customers placed their orders, where the price of each food item was prominently listed. I don’t know. Maybe they forgot how to read or count.
