Sterblue announces U.S. partnership with drone-network operator DroneBase
We are happy to announce a new partnership with United States drone-network operator, DroneBase, whose headquarters are located in Los Angeles, CA. Sterblue, based in France and in Los Angeles, CA builds software for drones to inspect power lines and wind turbines automatically. The announcement of this newly formed partnership with DroneBase comes just two months after the announcement that Sterblue would be entering the North American market.
The Sterblue team believes partnering with a dynamic organization like DroneBase will be mutually beneficial for both parties and will only continue to assist in the growth of both companies moving forward.
“We are very excited to launch this partnership in the US with DroneBase to bring a complete integrated automatic inspection service to the wind turbine market,” said Geoffrey Vancassel, CEO of Sterblue. “Combining the strengths of Sterblue AI-based software and the operational power of DroneBase will definitely help wind turbine owners inspect their assets cheaper and faster!”
Sterblue’s software will allow DroneBase to further their offering to their clients while also providing an additional opportunity for their network of more than 60,000 drone pilots. The robust DroneBase pilot network, with over 100,000 missions completed, will allow Sterblue to significantly scale their operational ability throughout the country.
“Our partnership with Sterblue is a great opportunity to further DroneBase’s footprint in the energy industry and help enterprises in wind, electricity, and solar make better decisions about their most critical assets,” said Dan Burton, Founder and CEO of DroneBase. “And with FLIR’s recent strategic investment, DroneBase will be able to leverage thermal drone sensors to provide additional data for these enterprises.”
The Sterblue-DroneBase partnership announcement coincides with the AUVSI XPONENTIAL 2019 trade show, “the largest, most comprehensive trade show for unmanned and autonomous systems.” Both companies will be represented this year at AUVSI XPONENTIAL.
Sterblue and DroneBase will begin their partnership with a focus on wind turbine inspections in Oklahoma, Texas, and California, (three of the leading wind turbine markets in the United States) with plans for nationwide expansion by the end of the year.
