Your Heart

Your heart knows what it wants. In fact, I think your heart know what is going to happen to you even if you try to resist. I’m not just talking about romantic relationships here. I’m talking your destiny, your life purpose, your reason to exist.

I came back from the Philippines with a new perspective because I had met so many amazing people. I learned to love my friends and care for my neighbors. To serve others like you’d like to be served. And most importantly it taught me to fight for what is in your heart because you don’t get to do this life over again. After you’re dead that’s it, you’re dust.

Don’t hold back when it comes to matters of the heart because you’ll waste a lot of your time attempting to go against the grains of life. It’s much easier to do what you know is right from the beginning. I think sometimes we think happiness can’t be that simple. Or we’ve been burnt before but it’s true. Life is that simple.

There is this amazing quote I heard, again while in the Philippines.

“Vocation is the place where our deep gladness meets the world’s deep need” — Frederick Buechner

I’ve been thinking about this quote for over a month now and it keeps calling to me as if my heart knows how true it was, even before I did.

So in the next few weeks, that’s what I’ll be doing.
