(Goodbye)
Tomorrow is a very bittersweet day.
Over 6 and half years ago, as a 19 year old with no real game plan, I started at dotloop on the quality assurance team.
The company was small then… Just a few of us huddled into an office just north of downtown Cincinnati. I had no idea what real estate was, and frankly, I don’t think I truly understood what the product was until 6 months into my career.
Eventually, I figured it out though. I realized that what dotloop was doing is so incredible for the industry and it became abundantly clear what I wanted to do:
Go all in.
During the years of my career at dotloop I’ve been afforded the opportunity to take part in so much, collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the industry and learn more than I could have even dreamed. I’m forever thankful for those moments, and appreciative that someone gave an unproven 19 year old kid (me) an opportunity to try and make a difference.
They say, “Start with the end in mind” but at the beginning I had not a single inkling of the impact that this company would have on my life.
Through the highs and lows, the nights spent in the office testing new releases, a series A funding round and most recently our acquisition by Zillow Group — I cannot begin to put into words how thankful I am of every single person I’ve had the pleasure of working with.
That said, Tomorrow marks my last day at dotloop.
It has been an absolute pleasure being a part of such an amazing team and company. I look forward to watching the company continue to do incredible things and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for everyone involved.
Next week, I will be joining the Inman News team and I’m so excited about the next chapter of my professional career.
To the loopers: You guys are absolute rockstars. Thank you for being such an amazingly impactful group of brilliant minds. I’m so excited to continue watching you thrive and succeed.
I will miss you guys.
Onward. #Looper4Life
