Raise the profile of Microfiction on Medium

I am disappointed that there are not many Microfiction stories on Medium. As of 25 Jan 2018 there are only 377 pieces tagged Microfiction. To put this into perspective there are 74k stories tagged Short Story, and 65k tagged Fiction. Love has 139k and Poetry 158k. Medium seems ideal for the short sharp assault on the mind that good Microfiction is, and we need more.
What can be done to get more Microfiction written, read and appreciated on Medium?
To raise the profile of Microfiction I intend to:
- Create more How to Write Microfiction Tip sheets, so there is a better understanding of what Microfiction is, and more is written.
- Write an article listing where to find good Microfiction and the authors writing it.
- Give over one tab of publication Adlers Writing to Invited Guest Authors, thereby showcasing the best.
- Where stories found are less than 300 words, and they could be classed as Microfiction and do not have the Microfiction tag, comment on the story suggesting the Microfiction tag.
Go. Go. Go.
If you are a reader, seek out and savour Microfiction, we have some good pieces here on Adlers Writing to get you started. See also Microfiction on Medium for a couple of other good authors not published here, yet. They only takes a couple of minutes to read, but messages can be embedded into your brain for the rest of the day.
If you are a writer, find out about Microfiction and what makes it good. Find out about starting in the middle and the ending not being at the end…yes you heard that right. Counter intuitive, right? I’m still working on it myself.
