Yes! 90% of our managers and directors grew within SThree by following a meritocratic process!

Nowadays, we’ve formalized this process by setting up a career plan where you can see all the criteria for promotion eligibility. This plan allows us to be completely transparent and objective to everyone looking for a more significant challenge within our organization. Thus, no matter your age, gender, situation, manager, brand (or any other non-relevant factors for this matter 😉) you’ll have the same chances to get a promotion as everyone else! This career road-map is called Velocity (because it goes fast) and we loooove it.

How does Velocity work?

Velocity is a framework for career development, but it’s not written in stone. Many of our consultants have followed this path but others have created/taken new roles within the company. In the same way, people have taken less or more time on each step of the process. At SThree, it’s up to you to decide.

0–9 months: Trainee Recruitment Consultant

From your very first day at SThree, you participate in an intensive training guided by our Learning and Development specialists, your manager, and your immediate colleagues. This gives you the self-confidence you need to recruit from day one and the knowledge for your role as a market specialist.

9+ months: Recruitment Consultant

Further training will support you to take on more responsibility, develop and manage your clients and hit challenging targets. This is where you use your recruitment knowledge and establish your business reputation.

18–24 + months: Senior Recruitment Consultant

Your influence grows, and you use your skills and experience to create business opportunities for yourself and others. You lead from the front and mentor trainees in line with the company values and vision.

Here you get two chances:

a: 24–36 + months: Principal Consultant

As a sector specialist, you will build relationships with major clients. You will also be a role model driving new initiatives and incentives and be one of the top billers in your location.

b: 36+ months: Sales Team Manager

This is your introduction to management. More training will support you in running a team of up to 8 consultants. You’ll be coaching, developing and guiding them as well as contributing with your own billing.

5+ years: Business Manager

Your focus moves from your own billing to managing a profit centre, creating business plans and driving performance. You will manage between 12–25 people and these will often be split between multiple sectors, e.g., Banking, IT, Construction, Engineering, and Pharma.

8+ years: Director

You are one of our business leaders and will be responsible for taking critical decisions at a company level. You’ll be heavily involved in the strategy, direction, and future of your region and have the opportunity to invest in the business you run.
