“The ADHD Boom!” Overdiagnoses or Safe Practice?
Why does everyone have ADHD all of a sudden? They don’t; but here’s why it seems that way.
It seems that everyone and your grandpa have heard about ADHD and the medications that come with it. Surely, they mean well but they all have an (unwarranted) opinion on it.
Granted, that opinion often starts with, “Back in my day…”

In actuality, the ADHD diagnosis has been around for over a 100 years. ADHD has been around as long as we have. It’s even been hypothesised that ADHD people were of utmost importance in nomadic tribes way back when.
The increase of diagnoses and the increase of usage of stimulant medication is due to the fact that widespread screening has become more accessible, the public is more knowledgeable, and we have improved our comprehension of the advantages of stimulant medication in the treatment of ADHD.
For someone with ADHD, medication can save their life.
