Fred Trump was born in 1905, a son of German Immigrants who had anglicised their name from Drumpf.

At a KKK riot, where approximately 1000 Klansmen and 100 Police Officers were viciously fighting, a man named Fred Trump who was living at the same address as Donald Trump’s father was arrested, for a felonious assault upon two police officers. It is not 100% confirmed that he was involved or a member of the Ku Klux Klan…

“Fred Trump of 175–24 Devonshire Road, Jamaica, was discharged.”

This was not his first or last tangle with racism or xenophobia though, as his companies and real estate agents were instructed to not rent out to Black tenants, or encourage them to leave as soon as possible. This was settled in 1975, and the Justice Department said that continuing..;

“racially discriminatory conduct by Trump agents has occurred with such frequency that it has created a substantial impediment to the full enjoyment of equal opportunity.”

Operating out of the same address cited in the NY Times piece on the KKK riot, he made the first lump of money by exploiting his builders. He resisted unionisation, and made them work far beyond normal expected hours. This allowed him to “build a higher quality product for a lesser price” and maximise his profit.

He married in 1936, to Mary MacLeod and they had 5 children, one of them is now very well known…

A colleague and family friend Richard Levy — “As children, Bob and Donald used to follow Mr. Trump all over and were fascinated by the bulldozers and other heavy equipment,”

Donald Trump had once complained that his father had “expected him to learn by osmosis”, and expected him to be a King and a Killer. As a young boy he was already building model skyscrapers and buildings, encouraged by Fred. Donald was dragged into a U.S. Senate committee at age 7, where his father had been found to have made an extra $1,700,000 in rent that he had gotten semi-legally with manipulation of estimates and costs; duping the tax payer, veterans and even leading President Eisenhower to call developers such as him “Sons of bitches” for such dodgy, yet still legal behaviour.

He was quite patriotic when it did not interfere with his funds, and insisted on driving an American car, a Cadillac; replaced every 3 years with a new one. During World War II he built barracks for the Navy, and after the war housing and apartments for the veterans.

After hours he was often seen at his building sites, in a very nice suit, picking up nails and other wasted items to reuse the next day. He also apparently made his own mixes of polish, to save approximately 75% in supply costs, and also would exterminate vermin and other infestations at his sites! This is one quality I don’t believe he passed down to Donald Trump, the concept of actual hard work. Though this suggests an unhealthy obsession with profit, something that was definitely inherited.

Just like his son, Fred Trump put money and profit above all else, his family, his country and his clients. He worked 7 days a week, from when he started the corportation at age 17, right up until he became quite ill with Alzheimer’s disease, working hard right up until he contracted Pneumonia in 1999;

Richard Levy — “He came in the office every day until the day he went to the hospital,”

Fred Trump died with an estimated net worth of approximately $250,000,000.
