As a women-led media company with a mission to uplift underrepresented voices, we are always thinking about how women’s stories are being told and who gets a platform to tell them. In the world of audio, a majority of the work happens behind the scenes — content is assembled by a team of editors, engineers, hosts, and producers who comb through scripts, storylines and tape to create a finished product. March is Women’s History Month, which is why WMN and Stitcher are teaming up all month long to highlight the women behind and beyond the microphone

We are far from reaching gender parity in audio. That’s why we’re commited to continue pushing for more women and nonbinary folks in audio in all professions, at all levels. On the Stitcher App, we’ve curated collections to amplify the women podcast hosts, producers and engineers who are creating some of the best content in the industry.

Stay tuned every Monday for more conversations about how to improve gender parity in podcasting. We’ll be sharing interviews with women hosts, producers and engineers about how they got their start in the industry, who has lifted them up, and what barriers they continue to face. We’re thrilled to work with Stitcher to elevate women in audio who are pushing for change.

Happy Women’s History Month!

The WMN team
