  • STACK opened the doors of our office in the Historic Distillery District for NewCo and Start Up Open House, part of ELEVATE, this past week to showcase, connect and spark new opportunities. Our Co-Founder and CPO, Ranjit Sarai, spoke at our NewCo Open House, discussing our launch and product journey.
  • Our Head of Design, Jeffrey Ace Fulgar, spoke on a panel at Future of Filipinos in Tech during Tech Week! RISE Tribe’s events are to highlight and strengthen the network of Filipinos in the Toronto area.
RISE Tribe’s Future of Filipinos in Tech team and speakers.
  • Our STK team attended several hackathons and events in the last two weeks, they’ve shared their insights and learnings below. We were inspired by these events and will incorporate our learnings into the product.
  • Tradeoffs & Considerations in the Decentralized User Experience: “Up until recently, the decentralized user experience was designed with only one specific type of user in mind, the devs. The learning curve in this space was steep. The community recognized better usability and less “blockchain” intricacies were key to achieve mass adoption. To cater to more casual users, teams including STK are actively re-imaging the user experience in the decentralized space piece by piece.” —
  • #shyftHACK: “It was a great experience attending shyftHACK! The theme of the hackathon was to build a gamerscore infrastructure incorporating Shyft’s credibility score and attestation layer. Our blockchain developer learned how Shyft’s distributed blockchain-based network offers data consolidation through decentralization.” —
  • Hack the North: “With over 1000 fellow hackers at Hack the North, there were a lot of participants interested in the newest technologies including blockchain, virtual reality, machine learning, and many more. At the Blockchain Hackers meetup, we got to talk with Liam Horne, co-founder of L4 and Counterfactual, one of the most interesting developments in the state channel space. With Liam, we got a code-walkthrough of the entire structure. This technology, as it stands, does not require contract code to be deployed on-chain, unless there is a dispute. This is incredibly helpful for reducing gas costs, and we very much look forward to the future of this project!” —

That’s it for now, we’ll see you in two weeks with more to report! As always, join the conversation anytime on Telegram, Twitter, Discord and Reddit. To download the app, visit the STACK website.
