Alex Morgan has amazed the soccer world once again.

In a United States women’s game against Australia on Thursday, April 4th, Morgan scored her 100th career goal for the country. This game was part of the team’s journey to this year’s FIFA World Cup in France, where the United States women are looking to achieve a back-to-back win.

The goal itself was one worthy of the 100th title. Chasing down a long pass from the United States’ defensive end, Morgan took possession of the ball and was full speed towards the goal. She impressively out skilled two of Australia’s defensive players and knocked the ball into the goal.

With this 100th goal accomplishment, Morgan becomes just the seventh player in United States Women’s National Team history to score 100 goals for the country. Her name will now be listed with Abby Wambach, Mia Hamm, Kristine Lilly, Carli Lloyd, Michelle Akers, and Tiffeny Milbrett.

Of this impressive list, Morgan is the third youngest member reach the triple digit scoring position. This puts the United States with a fantastic lineup heading into the World Cup competition. The roster now includes two 100 club members with Lloyd and Morgan as current teammates.

Morgan’s career does not seem to be slowing down anytime soon. She has single handedly scored nearly 25% of the United States’ goals since 2017. As she joins her team going into this year’s World Cup, it will be Morgan’s third appearance in this international competition.
