Manchester City F.C. is the best team in the Premier League for the second year and are favorites to be winners once more.

Manchester City is entering the final leg of the Premier League hot. Coming off their win in the Carabao Cup, a top tier football tournament, against one of Premier League’s best, Chelsea, in a 4–3 penalty shoot-out and are looking to keep the fire going to hoist their second trophy of the year.

Pep Guardiola’s team is sitting at the top of the table with a one point lead over Liverpool F.C. They are currently coming off a five game win streak and are looking as though nobody can stop them from raising another trophy. With only 10 games left to play they seem to be unstoppable.

Sergio Aguero, Manchester’s striker, is currently sitting on top of the league with 18 goals and is on pace to break the 20 goal mark, again and is eighth all time in Premier League Goals. Playing along side him is Raheem Sterling who is also a top 10 goal scorer with an impressive 12. Manchester City leads the league in goals scored with 76 and are second in clean sheets with 12.

Their team play is spectacular as well. Manchester City has three players to be candidates for Premier League Player of the Year. Sergio Aguero, the goal scoring machine, Fernandinho, and Raheem Sterling to round them out.

While Manchester City is filled with top talent and hitting their peak at the right time, Liverpool seems to be doing the opposite. They have recently drawn four out of their last six games and have dropped 11 points in their last nine premier league matches.

Liverpool’s struggles are connected to their top player Mohammad Salah. Salah, who is coming off Premier League Player of the Season in 2018, has only found the back of the net once in his last seven appearances on the pitch for Liverpool.

While Liverpool is having a spectacular season, it does not look like they will come out on top. Mohammad Salah is not in top form entering their final stretch and Roberto Firmino is coming off a fresh ankle injury which could pose a problem as they move forward.

Manchester City have the strongest chance of winning the Premier League because of their depth in a squad filled with top talent. Their squad contains some of the best talent in the world in Leroy Sane, David Silva, Raheem Sterling, Sergio Aguero, Bernardo Silva and Riyad Mahrez. It is difficult to find a team with identical individual talent.

Manchester City is 6–2 against the teams they will face up against in their home stretch. Their loses coming to an undeserving Crystal Palace team who trailed possesion by an astonishing 57% and had a total of 14 less shots, while their other came to Leicester City who, again, Manchester City out played with a 32% possession advantage, 11 shots to their 10, and four more corners.

Manchester is 23–2–4 this year with a total of 71 points and lets not forget they are also coming off an incredible 100 point season posting an astonishing 32–4–2 record. They are continuing to show why they deserve to be at the top of the league.

So why will Manchester City win the Premier league? Here’s why:

  1. They are coming off a momentum boost with their win in the Carabao Cup.
  2. They have notably more depth than Liverpool.
  3. Liverpool is struggling to get wins in the final stretch.
  4. They have the league’s top goal scorer in Sergio Aguero.
  5. They are born champions.
