The ides of March or what basketball super fans better know it as March Madness, the NCAA College Basketball Tournament.

In true March Madness fashion many people have polls that determine who will be the champion. So who is the top contender? The odds are in the favor of Duke University's men’s Basketball team. Not only does the team have future NBA players, they have a team cohesiveness that makes the team an NCAA champion.

With a current 26–4 standing, the Blue devils have becomes a power name in the Division 1 conference. Why is this? Look no further than the freshman- Rj Barrett, Zion Williamson, Cameron Reddish and Tre Jackson- this young crew is what continues the teams successful season. In the seasons open night against the Wildcats this line up won the game with a score of 118–84. Even the team's head coach Mike Krzyzewski has mentioned how this team has a good bond.

Though the team may not be strong in their free-throw shooting-which some say might keep them from winning-, they make up for it in defense and assists. This can be seen in the teams top forwards R.J. Barrett and Zion Williamson. Barrett and Williamson lead the team with the most points, with Barrett at 23.3 points and Zion at 21.6 this duo works together to get the as much points as they can with one another. Some may consider them to be college version of the power duo Klay Thompson and Steph Curry.

Along with the highest points on the team, Zion has the highest rebounds with 8.8 and has a standard of 28.2 mpg. Not only is Barrett and Williamson keys players in the game for the Blue Devils, another big player is Tre Jones. Jones, who is guard for the team so far has a total of 5.2 assists for the team.

As numbers don’t lie, the ranking of this team is one of pure champions. From the communication, defense and the pure entertainment that the young players of Duke University are able to provided. As this intense championship series its on its way to start, it will be interesting to see if Zion Williamson will be back from a knee injury -that has left him out of 4 games- to help his fellow teammates. Regardless, this strong team will be able to hold their own until his return back to the court.
