If you ask NBA fans from all over what the definition of the MVP is the answers will vary, but here’s why Paul George deserves and has earned the MVP award for this season.

Looking at the other prospects for the award, Giannis Antetokounmpo and James Harden, the obvious choice should be Paul George. He has done nothing but bring OKC back to the top 3 in the Western Conference and shown that he is now the star player for his team. He’s second in the league in scoring at over 34 points a night and has a virtually identical plus-minus as Giannis.

To begin to compare the three, Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Greek freak, should be an obvious MVP candidate. He is averaging 27.2 points a game and seventh league-wide in scoring, fifth in rebounds,15th in blocked shots and 25th in assists. But he is coming from the Eastern conference where teams average 1 All-Star for every other two or three teams, he has no obvious competition.

James Harden from the Houston Rockets has unbelievable scoring stats, averaging 36.3 points a game which is leading the league. But then again, what is the point of having a star player with great shooting when your team is 5th in the Western Conference? He seems to be doing most of the work for the Rockets which will get old come playoff time.

In the Western Conference, the Golden State Warriors lead and will have a chance at another title this season. But the Thunder with George and Westbrook, if they continue to have high scoring games, will give us a great conference final series that many would be excited to watch.
