Allyson Felix, the “most decorated female track and field star in history,” should be chosen for the Most Valuable Player because of her impeccable accomplishments and future endeavors in the 2020 Olympics.

Since her big breakthrough at the 2012 Olympics in London, Allyson Felix has proven to be one of the best female track and field athletes to date. In 2012, Felix became the first female athlete since 1988 to receive three gold medals in a single Games.

The USC alumna collected her first gold after flying out of the blocks in the 200m with a winning time of 21.88. Felix kept the momentum going as she helped the USA team set a new world record of 40:82 in the 4x100m relay. Proven to be a “golden hat-trick,” Felix picked up her third gold medal victory as the second leg in the USA 4x400m with a split time of 47.8 seconds.

“Six years ago a dream came true! Not pictured: the tears, injuries, frustration, 2 silver medals and over 8 years of sacrifice and training. Unbelievably grateful for this incredible journey. Excited to give my all for one more big moment in Tokyo!”

With 25 medals to her name, Felix has more world championship and Olympic titles than any other female track and field athlete. Apart from the medals, the Los Angeles native is the sixth fastest 200m runner in the world at 21.69 seconds. Additionally, her 4x400m split time ranks as the second-fastest 400m time in history.

Last year, ESPN The Magazine named Felix as one of the top-20 most dominant athletes over the past 20 years. Felix was placed 16th in the rankings not only for her outstanding number of accolades, but also for her determination to always be better on the track than she was the last time.

With recently giving birth to her first child, the six-time Olympic champion still looks to compete in the 2020 Olympics if she makes the fifth USA Olympic team. The 33-year-old has proven through her exceptional abilities that she should undoubtedly be awarded MVP.
