For this years 2018–2019 NBA season, this year’s MVP is favored to be Giannis Antetokounmpo, due to the odds changing in his favor as James Harden’s went down drastically in the last couple of weeks.

In January James Harden, was at the top of the list favored to win MVP with the odds of -500, but that all changed a couple of weeks ago when his odds went down to -300. Since that has occurred, that puts Antetokounmpo with his odds in favor of winning the MVP honor at -250.

This puts him at a 71.43% chance of ultimately earning MVP honors, which is a large probability that he will win. This push towards Giannis steams from rockets win over the warriors without Harden being present not putting any added value to him. Those odds are not the only reason that he is favored to take it all and win this MVP title, at the end of this NBA season.

One of the factors is the status of the team that he is currently on, the Milwaukee Bucks. They are a beast of a team right now in the NBA and who is believed to be the team that is at the top to win the Eastern Conference. Due to the fact that they have the lead Toronto by two in the loss column, that they won the season series, and with Raptors coming in a close second behind them it will be hard for the Celtics or Sixers.

In their last game on Thursday, they continued there winning streak against playing the Boston Celtics. Which further proves that they are the team to beat, most likely win the Eastern Conference, and go to the NBA Finals. In connection with this, Giannis is the best player on the Bucks team record wise.

Stats show that Antetokounmpo; is the seventh in the whole league in scoring, in fifth in rebounds, twenty-fifth in assist, and fifteenth in blocked shots. With him just being on the game floor for just minutes he is able to outscore his opponents, Plus he holds the top net rating of any player in the league at a minimum of 12 minutes per game. Will Giannis Antetokounmpo, stay the most favored to win the title? We will just have to see what happens in weeks to come to stay tuned!
