Stock market update: 72 stocks hit 52-week highs on NSE
ETMarkets.com The BSE Sensex was trading -352.35 points down at 49231.81.
Benchmark NSE Nifty index was trading -106.25 points down at 14489.35 on Friday on account of selling in frontline bluechip counters.
Among the stocks that touched their 52-week highs on NSE were: Vodafone Idea, Tata Consultancy Services, Cadila Healthcare, Dabur India, Amara Raja Batteries, JK Tyre & Industries, Persistent Systems, Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra), UTI Asset Management Company and Tata Power Company.
Overall, 10 shares were trading in green in Nifty50 index, while 40 were trading in red in the afternoon trade.
In the Nifty 50 index, Bharti Airtel, UPL , Bajaj Auto, Tata Steel and GAIL were among top gainers, while Hindalco Inds., BPCL, HCL Tech, ICICI Bank and Hero MotoCorp were trading in red.
The BSE Sensex was trading -352.35 points down at 49231.81. Traders were seen piling up position in Diversified, Telecommunications, General, Term Lending Institutions and Cables sectors, while selling were visible in Electric/Electronics, Learning & Education, IT Enabled Services, Trading and Defence sectors.
