How to Find ICOs / Token Sales

There are many sites that list ICOs and token sales. Some are good, however, they might be subsets of the list on Bitcointalk.org’s Announcement (Altcoins) page, for the following reasons:

  • Not all of the project teams will know about all of the listing sites, but they all know about and will announce on Bitcointalk.org’s Announcement (Altcoins) page.
  • Some listing sites charge to be listed. Not all of the projects will pay to get listed. These projects are trying to raise money and do not have money.

However, Bitcointalk.org’s Announcement (Altcoins) sorts the announcements based on the ones that had the most recent comments. Therefore, on the first page, you’ll see announcements that were originally posted months ago and even announcements whose token sales have ended, but they are there because a comment as added recently. On the first page are usually the old mega projects which have finished their token sale a long time ago, but keep getting pushed up to page one because of new comments on their threads.

To find the newest announcements, click “Search” on Bitcointalk.org and enter:

  • ANN in the “Search for:” field
  • Check the “Search in topic subjects only” box (but I’m not sure if this narrows down the search results)
  • Change the “Between 0 and 9999 days” field
  • Under “Choose a board to search in, or search all”, uncheck “Check all”. Then click on + to expand the list and check only “Announcements (Altcoins)”
  • Click Search

This will show the announcements for the days that you selected.

Note that some projects might announce a couple of months in advance. (We did and probably announced too early.) So, if you enter a small number in the “Between 0 and 9999 days” field, you might miss out on some.
