🧨 Partnering with New York Institution Ess-a-Bagel 🧨

Fire in the hole…💥 Today the Stockeld cream cheeses land at iconic Ess-a-Bagel on 3rd avenue as we kick off our partnership. Together we are introducing the hottest sandwich for this summer and the first ever plant based sandwich in Essa’s 47 year history.

FIRE IN THE HOLE — Tangy Stockeld Smoked Paprika & Chili, Jalapeño, Pickles, Bell Pepper

Dropping on the menu today is Fire in the Hole, a first-of-its-kind creamy, tangy and spicy bagel experience, 100% plant based. The Stockeld Cream Cheese, made of cultured chickpeas and lentils can now also be added to any bagel, in two different flavors: Smoked Paprika & Chili and Garlic & Herbs.

Ess-a-Bagel was founded almost 50 years ago and has been considered one of the best bagels in New York ever since. The daily long lines and the wait that people are willing to endure is pretty mind blowing.

I am personally responsible for this partnership, having cornered, stalked and politely pushed this New York institution to partner with us, a new cheese maker, just arriving in New York City. I have to admit I was told no in a number of different ways :) When I finally got to meet Melanie, who’s aunt initially started the company, we hit it off immediately!

We could instantly appreciate the contrasts between the new meeting tradition and the new comer meeting the established. We could also instantly find alignment and energy in the desire to push boundaries to deliver healthier and more sustainable foods to the masses.

This is the kick off of our partnership, starting at 3rd ave with the hope to expand shortly to more sites.

Off we go!

Taking every excuse to eat a bagel
