AMC (AMC) is just one of a few stocks that have been pulled into a monumental battle between Retail Investors and Short-Sellers.

Share prices on AMC stock have seen extreme swings over the past few days ranging from $12 to $22 on average, but overall it appears that the shorts are gaining the upper hand and putting the Retail Investors back in check. AMC Networks have a high percentage of short interest as a percentage of the float, at about 60%.

Short sellers are fighting back and driving AMC shares down. At the time of this writing, Short-Sellers appear to be winning the war that the Retail Investors initiated a week ago. It seems the Short-Sellers have requested the backing of regulators and trading platforms such as Robinhood in an attempt to stop Retail Investors from driving the prices up further.

It has given Retail Investors the appearance that Hedge Funds have buddied up to the Regulators in a dubious attempt to get assistance in keeping the stock from climbing higher. A tactic used to allow the Short-Sellers to gain momentum on the Retail Investors, and push the stock price back down.

Today, Retail Traders are attempting to stand Strong against the Short-Sellers and regulators by urging one another to buy and hold, and not to sell for any reason. The post suggests making AMC the next GameStop (GME), and creating a short squeeze that will “take it to the moon.”

Is AMC the new battlefield in the Retail Investors war against Short-Sellers? Today should provide more insight. At the time of this Writing AMC share prices have been pushed back to $13.50 levels pre-market from $21 in the pre-market open.

Retail Investors have claimed that their passion for ending Short-Sellers manipulation will show in the share prices. Up until now, that seemed to be true. As the week comes to a close tomorrow we expect that this could go in either direction very sharply.
