Need some trading ideas to get the week started? This is my weekly issue for February 12 — February 16 with various financial and trading summaries to generate ideas.

Market

The stock market whipsawed 22,000 points pointing to big moves occurring in an overall 5% down week. The 1-week performance heat map below of stocks shows only small caps holding on.

What follows are trends overall going into next week. The Performance and Overextended scans are pointing to a bearish week. Most stocks are in oversold (too low) territory so keep an eye out for bounces this week.

Financial News

Stocks saw worst week in two years last week.

Congressional big spending pact worries analysts about fiscal crisis risk.

Gold price is usually an inverse to stocks value, and gold bugs expect that axiom to start this week.

Some analysts are pointing to inverse instruments for the reason for the stock market dip.

Rumor of the week: $AMZN might start accepting bitcoins for purchases.
