“Pass through this brief patch of time in harmony with nature, and come to your final resting place gracefully, just as a ripened olive might drop, praising the earth that nourished it and grateful to the tree that gave it growth.” — Marcus Aurelius, Meditations, 4.48.2

After reading this quote, I realised I’m not at peace with my life. Constantly, I’m struggling with who I am and battling against my habits and tendencies. How do I find the calm and acceptance for who I am?

Every day, I’m rushing through the day to get it ALL done (which will never happen) and missing the beauty and peace each day offers.

Today, I start by slowing down and seeing the beauty in a small thing and noting it.

I will praise myself for completing something I usually take for granted such as washing the dishes.

I’ve already begun the daily habit of watching a short (10-minute) video on YT that makes me laugh and that is adding joy to my days.

In my Hero’s Journal, I record 3 things I am grateful for and will continue to do that daily.

Join me in reading and discussing The Daily Stoic*: 366 Meditations on Wisdom, Perseverance, and the Art of Living by Ryan Holiday and Stephen Hanselman.
