Mood Killer

What is this mood killer?

You may be reveling in the scenery, taking in the breeze, catching a breather from a day’s hard work, or having a swing with your new mods, and that vibration sets in, prickling your ears and making your body shudder. You’d have to speak loudly to your spouse and kids in order to hear your own voice, or turn up the radio to full blast to even hear any music at all.

It is the exhaust drone.

An annoying noisy vibration in the cabin that becomes audible with some aftermarket and also stock exhaust systems typically when you are cruising on the freeway, engaged in sports mode, or have exceeded a certain rpm. This varies from engine to exhaust and becomes an obstacle to any enthusiast who wishes to modify his exhaust without sacrificing the comfort of his ears.

There are some who say the drone only happens with aftermarket exhausts. This is not true. Drone can and does happen to those with stock exhausts and few have had their share of complaints. Many drivers upgrade for a louder sounding exhaust unprepared for the vexing drone attached to it. Some prefer a more refined tone but shudder at the thought of a mood-killing buzz. It being a common issue, some have resorted to offsetting the drone using mufflers, resonators, or sound deadening techniques. From poor configuration to shoddy manufacturing processes, the buzz often accompanies even top manufacturers killing your pride and joy.

The Intelligence of Sound

If that is you, it would be worth looking into your mufflers to see if there has been a defect. Your nearby garage may easily solve the issue. Getting a helmholtz resonator tube aka j-pipe or j-tube installed could potentially resolve the issue. However, if you’re looking to rewrite your sound profile and have no plans maintaining your stock exhaust, Stone’s cat-back valvetronic exhaust systems are a great choice. Amongst the reasons it’s worth it is that it enhances the quality of your vehicle, removes the drone in your cabin while exuding an amazing exhaust sound.

“There’s a way to do it better — find it.” — Thomas Edison

Automotive artisans and sound engineers fabricate the exhausts using state-of-the-art CNC bending machines and mechanical welding arms. The exhausts are constructed from the finest stainless steel parts by experienced craftsmen in combination with cardinal workmanship and technological mastery. If you do not want to go through all that trouble, installing the Stone exhaust will allow you to skip those steps with its no-drone technology mindfully engineered to cancel any drone and herald the beauty of sound.
