5000+ people, 20+ districts across 8 states are safely home. Thanks to you, our 800+ donor family!

We have all heard now that the governments are taking notice and action of the migrant crisis. The lifting of lockdowns in many parts of the country means two positive things -

  • Work opportunities may open up again and people need not travel home.
  • State provided transport will become a feasible option of travel for those who want to.

For the latter, three things further arise-

  • State provides transport, but it is not free. Many migrants have used up their savings in sustaining themselves. They still need our support.
  • State provides transport, but there is no food and water provision. We’ve seen this in the Shramik special trains which have already reported 80 deaths for a variety of reasons. We’ve seen the news of the apathetic deaths due to starvation and dehydration. They still need our support.
  • State provides transport, but it is hard to get tickets/reservations. In this instance, alternate means of transport might still be the quickest way to get home. They still need our support.

There are many issues that the state will face in transporting the lakhs of migrants back home. We need to continue to do our bit.

We’ll let you know as the situation progresses. But for now, over 5000 families are thankful to you for your support to #StopTheWalk.

Keep spreading the word so that we finish what we started. Help us help them.
