Mystery
The truth behind ‘Hello Kitty’ — is it a cat or a deal with the devil, or something else?
The popular ‘Hello Kitty’ that is sold as different merchandise across the globe is not a cat, confirm the makers of the toy.
We all have grown up seeing ‘Hello Kitty’ around us in various forms and acts. Sometimes it is reading a newspaper, sometimes it is getting ready for school and sometimes it is baking a cake.
Well, most people thought from its appearance of it, that Hello Kitty is a cat, just like the cartoon character Doraemon, that does it all and has some super-human abilities to perform all human tasks with ease.
But the makers of the character revealed that it is not a cat.
This shocked, not only the people who loved the character but even many new internal employees and new joiners who joined the company with a different hope and mindset.
The makers revealed that even though the character has been a prominent part of Japanese culture since the 70s, it is not a cat. It is not an animal either. ‘Hello Kitty’ is never seen on ‘all fours’, like an animal, and that is because it was never aimed to be an animal at all.
