Alchemy: Lead is as important as Gold

Many have pursued alchemy, a burning desire to turn a base metal lead into gold. Some believe actual magicians were working on this, while others see it as myth and metaphor.

Lead is a very dense and dark material. It represents a slower molecular vibration and its dullness denotes the inability to be reflective. In small doses, lead is poisonous and even fatal to people, animals, and plants.

Gold, on the other hand, is lighter and brighter. Its density indicates a higher molecular vibration and it gleams and glitters as light reflects off its faceted cells. It is soft, malleable, pleasing to the eye, and highly sought after.

If we chose lead to represent human consciousness and gold as a metaphor for Infinite Consciousness, we begin to explore alchemy.

The premise assumes lead is a lesser material.

Because of its density and dullness, it cannot possibly hold much value. We prefer something warm, shiny, and golden. So, we used lead for everyday implements like drinking cups (in hindsight, not the best idea), and weapons (which seemed to match its vibration).

Gold, however, was elevated to a precious status, reserved for only a few. We craved it, hoarded it, fought wars with lead weapons to have more of it. For a supposedly precious element, gold’s…
