We had a conversation with Gideon Chain, the CEO of Ambie.

Ambie manages music effortlessly for your business. It doesn’t matter if you are a small retail shop, high-end hotel or even an airport. Get music to your location the easiest way — all you have to do is press play. :)

How did you, the founders, meet?

I’ve known Harley for 12 months. I went to college with his sister and she recommended him when I was looking for my first sales guy. I’ve known Ben for 6 months. He was designing playlists for one of the restaurants we approached as a potential customer and they put us in touch. Now we all love each other!

What is the most important team value you have?

In our team, it’s important that everything is black and white. That means that everyone knows where they stand, what’s expected of them, what’s possible and what they’re aiming for. So, I guess, I could say our motto is: Get rid of the grey (grey areas: uncertain KPIs, moving targets etc.)

What roles would any of you have if you got stuck on a deserted island?

If we got stuck on a deserted island, Harley would be responsible for getting food & hunting, Ben would be responsible for entertainment, John would be responsible for running the camp, and I would be responsible for keeping people motivated whilst figuring out how to get off the fucking island!

Team song — Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger by Daft Punk.
