Meet Dmitry Minkin — Storiqa Internet Marketer

Dmitry, tell us please about yourself and your department. What are your responsibilities and what are you working on now?

I’m a specialist of IT-projects promotion on the Internet. During my career, I have worked with different IT-projects including blockchain-project as well. I started working at Storiqa as Internet Marketer in September and now I’m focusing on complex development of internal and external product processes.

What does the marketing department work on while the development process is going and the marketplace is working in the testing mode?

The most priority task now is the process of sellers attraction along with the development of the marketplace — the marketing department improves UX/UI of the platform for better usability. Regarding sellers attraction, we prepare special offers for them and help them with everything that can boost their sales — assisting in creating descriptions and photos for their Storiqa pages, writing selling guides and articles on actual topics in Storiqa blog. You will find posts about all key updates and changes in Social Media channels where we are happy to answer all your questions.

What is the most important thing for the marketplace promotion? What methods do you consider the most effective?

At the moment, we are not focusing on active marketplace promotion because Storiqa at one of the development stages and is working in testing mode. If we talk about the future, we will gather maximum communication channels (both free and paid) to demonstrate our platform and reach a lot of customers. But it doesn’t mean that there is no promotion at all right now — we are focusing on free methods like SEO or crowd-marketing because we consider them as the most effective at the current stage of the product.

Let’s move to the project in general. Why Storiqa?

As for me, it’s an indispensable life experience. It’s nice to know that you create not just a commercial project but something huge that will help little-known handmade producers to sell their goods internationally and open new horizons. Nowadays, the social responsibility of any project plays a very important role in development, especially in the global market.

And what do you think about Storiqa future? How will your job be changed when the platform is launched?

We put all our efforts to create a high-quality marketplace that will be easy-to-use and really modern. I’m sure that Storiqa can take its place in the sphere of handcrafted goods and compete on a par with such giants as Etsy and Amazon.

Regarding changes in my work, I will make more marketing campaigns and attract customers on a new level, improve different marketing resources. Will see!

Yes, we will. Turning back to the present: creating a marketing strategy is not an easy task, indeed. Maybe there is something not really obvious but worth considering and implementing from the very start?

Hmmm… I may recommend to establish a process of gathering permanent feedback about the project and noticing every useful information about possible improvements. It can help to avoid obvious problems closer to the start. You should think about people whom you develop your platform for and, as result, hear them and realize what exactly they want. It’s always the most right strategy.

What are the most complicated goals you had to face with? What exactly has helped to resolve it?

We should not forget that we have to do with cryptocurrencies and working in a situation of crypto market high volatility is not an easy task for us. We need to change our strategy very often and optimize internal processes in the company as well. I try to follow new inputs, listen to my colleagues and find new ways to reach goals, not regretting the previous ones. Ability to react is my big help.

Is there anything in your job (a fact, short story or maybe any task you had) that would be curious for our community?

If my colleagues or I find some noteworthy creative online-store, we try to contact its owner and invite to Storiqa, even if we had worked on another task before that. Sometimes I find 10–20 amazing online-stores per week!

“Storiqa team is…”? Could you describe it in a couple of words? What is the secret of a successful team, in your view?

Professionals of their craft, that’s all! We gather the best specialists — only such people can create an innovative project. The secret of a successful team for me is believing in what you do, creating a positive atmosphere and providing strong support — we have everything of that.
