Storiqa proved themselves as ‘one-to-watch’ after leading discussions at the 9th Annual European e-Commerce Conference 2018.

Storiqa took the stage to share our expertise at the European e-Commerce Conference. Storiqa co-founder and COO Andrian Galkin lead a panel discussion with the likes of Etienne Goosse, Director General of the European Payments Council, Alastair Johnson, founder of blockchain platform Nuggets and Vaida Ališauskaitė, CEO of Webmobix.

The subject under scrutiny was how to develop and implement safe, innovative and user-friendly online payment systems.

Conference Executive, Joe Rossiter stressed that “building trust and confidence, supporting new commercial opportunities and business models, offering greater consumer choice as well as ensuring interoperability between payment systems in different Member States are essential issues to foster cross-border e-commerce, and ultimately to the successful completion of the Digital Single Market.”

The conference provided Storiqa with ample opportunity for B2B networking, and the potential of long-term partnerships with other like-minded businesses. One such connection was made with Nuggets. This London based company specializes in e-commerce payments that utilizes blockchain technology to securely stores data, essentially eliminating security breaches.

Storiqa and Nuggets aim to sign a partnership agreement on March 20 2018, allowing Storiqa to take advantage of Nuggets’ secure transactional model and whilst sustaining competitive transaction fees.

The event also enabled Storiqa to liaise with essential representatives in the shipping industry. We received business model approval from UPS Director of Strategy Erik Hjeltnes, as well as critical insight to the volume thresholds Storiqa needs to attain for optimal scaling. Storiqa is also in talks with London based and EU-centric logistics company Parcelly, with the intention of entering into a partnership in late March. With this collaboration, we aim to heighten our customer delivery experience, as Parcelly provides “on-demand collection points to resolve existing industry problems associated with first and last-mile delivery” according to CEO Sebastian Steinhauser.

Storiqa rubbed shoulders with trade and regulation authorities, such as representatives from the European eCommerce & Omni-Channel Trade Association. Their Director of Government Affairs, Razvan Antemir, endorsed Storiqa’s progressive stance in the fast-paced e-commerce industry, with the potential for future cooperation in the European market.

We also anticipate attending e-commerce events associated with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, after a standing invitation from Programme Manager for Electronic Commerce and Law Reform, Cecile Barayre-El Shami.

Our MVP will be unveiled between the second and third quarters of 2018, until which time we remain active in attracting shops globally to trade on Storiqa. To promote Storiqa locally within the EU, we have already established strong contacts within e-commerce bodies such as the Italian e-Commerce Association (AICEL), the Estonian e-Commerce Association and the Romanian e-Commerce Assocations.
