Here’s the deal, I want to give you all the lowdown on how to deal with setbacks, let-downs and ‘failure’ so that we can be stronger moving through a lockdown and you can achieve the kind of results you want faster.

  1. My first question is how many of you out there took the time to write down your new years goals (resolutions) and have you read back over them recently?

2. How many of those goals are still extremely important to you?

3. If you haven’t achieved some or any of them what’s been holding you back?

Maybe it’s because when we commit to doing something new, something that may cause us to FAIL its becomes very nerve-racking right?

I know this, how? because I fail all the time at a lot of things in life but I’ve learned something really important about failing and what causes a lot of people to give up early on or not to even try,

The person who isn’t AFRAID to try will never really FAIL…

Understand it's not the ‘set-back’ that's the issue and causing the suffering

its what YOU’RE MAKING IT MEAN…

Who is judging what is considered a failure? who sets the bar or level? and for that matter what constitutes a pass or fail? who critiques your effort?

Another thing to remember is that goals don't need to be rigid. Consider this… if they were more organic and had the ability to ebb and flow with the ups and downs of your busy lifestyle you’d have a much lower failure rate.

It’s like Bruce Lee said “be like water”

the same should apply to your goals…

It’s okay to experience setbacks and for things not to work out. Not only because it means you’re trying but because you LEARN more from these setbacks than you do when things go smoothly

TAKE AWAY the intensity of the emotions. Let's get that sh*t out of your head and on paper. You see when you keep all of these thoughts and failures on repeat in your mind its a DRAMA SHOW. Full-on suffering, stress and chaos like a scratched record repeating itself constantly it’s a PROBLEM you just can’t let go.

To take away all of that intensity you’ll need to get it on PAPER ask yourself this,

A- what was the objective I was aiming for and WHY is it so important?

B- what worked?

C- What didn’t work?

D- If I was starting again, knowing what I do now, what would I do differently?

See how powerful this can be, it quietens the noise….if you put it into practice with your training, your nutrition, your lifestyle choices, your mindset, your commitment to your goal and the outcome of your success?

Now you are taking away the ability for you to fail?

What would YOUR life look like if you never failed at anything again?

Pretty cool right?

The only trouble is most people reading this will have two different responses one being “yea I’ve read something like this before” or “it’s a good idea but…” and then won’t even try putting it into practice and then wonder why sometimes they feel frustrated and they feel stuck because things don't seem to change for them.

I truly believe anyone regardless of their past, present or future has the ability to achieve anything they want in life regardless of how insurmountable it may seem and everyone reading this article is no different.

I’ve always felt that accepting a life lost in personal mediocrity is such a devastating loss of potential…YOU are unique, that makes you special (we sometimes forget this it gets lost) there is no one else quite like you in the millions of people inhabiting this earth so imagine what you could achieve if you weren’t afraid to fail!!!

Be safe, be active, be creative and
as always try and be kind to each other

peace…Keith #stormfree
