StorX Network Knowledge Series: Data Sharing Operations on StorX(Vault Sharing)
Exciting news for the StorX Community! We’re thrilled to introduce the Vault Sharing feature in the StorX Dashboard, a pivotal development on our journey towards the mainnet launch. This innovative feature allows users to securely share their data vaults with anyone on the internet, enhancing collaboration and data accessibility while maintaining the highest levels of security and privacy. Stay tuned as we delve deeper into how Data Sharing Operations work, its benefits, and what this means for the future of decentralized data storage with StorX.
- Login to the website using the following URL:-”https://storx.io/project-dashboard."
- Once logged in to the site, you can view the list of vaults created in the dashboard section.
- Click on the 3-dot menu bar on the side of the list. You can view the following options: View vault details, Share vault, Publish vault, and Delete vault. • Select the option “Share Vault.”
- Enter Passphrase:- Now, you will be asked to provide the passphrase to get access to perform the sharing operation. ”The passphrase should be the same as the one you entered earlier.”
- We will be redirected to the next pop-up indicating confirmation to “share” content.
- With the “Expiry date only”.
- With the Expiry date and the encryption(Password:- to keep your document safe).
- Without providing the Expiration date and password,
Let’s see all the type of the sharing medium individually below:-
- With the Expiry date and the Encryption (Password).
- Check the expiry and the password.
- Select the expiry date.
- Set the password and click on the Create button.
- Here, the shared file is safe and protected, making it accessible for a limited time. The encryption provided here will keep the file safe until the password is shared with the person.
- Click here to see the next step to proceed with.
- Opening the Shared Vault link with the expiry date and password: As you can see, a pop-up containing the password and the share link, along with the other options to share via link, appears. You may follow any of the steps below to proceed with sharing the vault documents and the file individually.
- Copy and share the link and the password you received.
Without providing the Expiration date and password:
- Uncheck the expiry date and the password and proceed with the create button.
- Note: The file vault you are sharing will not be encrypted; hence, the link shared is accessible to the person at any time. They can also view the changes in the file every time they open it.
- Opening the Shared Vault link without expiry date and password: As you can see, the share link, along with the other options to share via link, pops up. You may follow any of the steps below to proceed with sharing the vault documents and the file individually.
- Copy and share the link and the password you received.
With the “Expiry date only:
- Select the expiry date and provide the date it is accessible or the date of access.
- Note: The file will be accessible on a selected date and time. As we are not providing the password, the shared file is unsafe.
- The link generated can be shared with multiple users, and the user can see the contents if any changes are happening in the file as he opens the file via the link provided.
- Opening the Shared Vault link with expiry date: As you can see, the share link, along with the other options to share via link, pops up. You may follow any of the steps below to proceed with sharing the vault documents and the file individually.
- Copy and share the link and the password you received.
How do the shared links look when the user opens them?
- Paste the shared URL in your browser; the following interface is below.
- The shared link contains the encryption(Password) and the expiry date.
- You need to provide the Password to view the file, Folder.
Note: Your password should be the same as the one you provided while creating it.
- If the shared link contains the Only password, you will get the following interface to view the document.
- If the shared link does not include the password and expiry date, you should be able to view the list of the data or the data itself in the file.
- If the shared link only has the expiration date, you should be able to view the list of the data or the data itself in the file.
- If the shared link has an expiry date and a password, after entering the required data, you should be able to view the list of the data or the data itself in the file.
- Select any of the files from the list view above you will see the “Download” and “Share.”
- Download button: You can download and save the file in the system.
- Share button:- You can re-share the file in view.
- Sign-up button:- If you want to be part of StorX, click the signup link to proceed with the registration.

To reshare the file, click the share button, copy the link from the pop-up above, and share the content.
- Sharing via “WhatsApp,” “Telegram” and “mail.”
- Click on the WhatsApp icon, and you will be redirected to the WhatsApp.
- Click on the Telegram icon to be redirected to the Telegram application.
- Click on the mail icon to be redirected to the mail application.
