Lifting others up to lift yourself up.
Story Art by Jasky

Two brothers lived in an isolated small town. Green pastures as far as the eyes could see, and aside from the chatter spreading from the cafes of its minute city centre, the chirping of birds was the most prominent noise that could be heard here.

Both brothers were full of ideas and blessed with great creativity. The older brother would slave day and night working on turning his ideas into success. He wanted to be rich and famous so that he live amongst the hustle and bustle of the greatest cities of the world.

The younger had no such interest, so over the years he developed many ideas during his spare hours and gave them away to those in larger businesses, and influencers, to help further their interests. Not looking for anything in return, he found fulfilment from seeing his ideas making a difference.

He architected a new extraction method that reduced inefficiencies for mining corporations and sent all details to key resource executives.

He proposed a new road design for traffic reduction that helped aid the Governor’s political campaign.

He researched the direct contact details of hundreds of publishers and sent them to a local author to help him get exposure.

Meanwhile, the older brother struggled to make ends meet. He came home one day, shoulders slumped and with little resolve, told the younger that he was ready to give up. He had yet to secure a meaningful account, and had tried all that he knew.

That night the younger scripted a short message to those that he had helped over the years and attached the business plan of his older brother, seeking their assistance.

Two days later, the older brother was at the receiving end of a phone call that would be worth more to him than everyone combined had made in the history of the town. He had secured one of the most sought after accounts of a mining giant.

It wasn’t said so in words, but the older brother knew who pulled the strings.

By moving others up, so do you.
